Hiyashi: *resist the urge*

I totally embarass myself just after all the celebration...

You know how sms wishes spam your phone on your birthday?
Well ya... and there are bound to some sms you can't identify for one of the reasons below:

1. Your friend happened to change his/her number without informing you
2. You're a bad bad friend for not having someone's phone number when they have yours *shame on you*
3. It's a wrong sms to the wrong person

I had a few no.1s and so unluckily got myself a no.2.

SMS reads

"Wishin u a happy bday. One year wiser n enjoy the rest of your special day."

*blinks*

Totally clueless who this is... and who know how awkward to ask for someone's identity when they obviously know who you are. It makes you look baaad.

And so I replied

"Thank you so much for your wishes. Since it's my birthday you shouldn't be angry with me even if I ask who this is?"

Few minutes later, an sms came in... the answer has arrived!

I "died" on the spot as the sms reads

"Aiyah... your boss la."

My Bad! For being vague in my choice of words. My Bad!

Japanese Film Festival 2007

"Ask and you shall get!"

Hah! One of my dad's wise advices in life. But I've always find it hard to open my mouth to ask something from someone. Paiseh mah. Paiseh! And my dad always scolded me because of that since I was young. It's no wonder my sister tend to get a whole lot more stuff from my parents than I do. Hmmph.

Then again, when I ask, I ask BIG. MUAHAHA... and because I rarely asked for anything, the chances of me getting what I want when I actually asked for it are higher. *winks*

And so I asked!

I asked Yen-san out for the weekend! My only hope in catching a movie for this year's Jap Film Fest. She agreed! Woohoo! And so we had our little 日本の日 aka Japanese Day.

Once again... I sat the ferry even though I don't have to go to work on this special Saturday. -.-;; Yen-san was right there under the bridge waiting for me.

First stop - the cinema! Showtime was 3.30pm. Reached slightly before 2.00pm and all there was left was the first four rows in front. Nuu.... Friendly cashier reminded us we can try our luck for uncollect-reserved tickets which will be opened for sale to the public at 3.00pm. Yen-san looks at Hiyashi-san and Hiyashi-san looks back.

"YOSH! We'll be here at 2.55pm!"

So off we went for lunch. Naturally we must have Japanese food. *nods* A bowl of ramen for me, a bowl of rice for Yen-san, the rice lover. ^^;; A tasty plate of gyoza and of course sips of green tea. Mmmm....

The only regret I have was my irrational self when it comes to foooood. I forgot to take piccies of delicious food. All I got at the end of the day was a blur picture of our receipt. *smiles sheepishly*

All the Yosh-ing earlier was in vain as well since we arrived in front of the cinema at 3.03pm with a long queue in front of us.

Everytime we see someone collect their reserved tickets from the reservation counter we fidgetted. o__O;; It got a bit nerve-wrecking when the queue was not going anywhere because of a random guy in front asking way toooo many questions! And he even left without buying anything! Woooooot? @__@

Our turn! Our turn! And indeed we got good seats I tell ya. Goooood ones! Yen-san even did a victory sign when we left the counter. I bet we were termed as two weird ladies right there and then. But who cares! We got goooood tickets!

See! We even got booklets. You don't get these any other days with any other movies. Hah! We sat there and waited for the movie to start. *blinks blinks* Uwah... we were surrounded by Nihongo and where we are two young ladies chirping away in Mandarin. HAHAHA... I look around for someone I can relate to and spotted an Indian guy! Weee...

Oh ya. Heh. The movie was...

YOSHINO's BARBER SHOP

Yup, it's cute they all have the same hairstyle yet at the same time waaaay creepy too. Clicky on the link provided for the show's synopsis. The movie was funny and amusing. For only RM5.00 it's a good watch. I even recognised one of the boys as an actor in a jdorama I've watched. *nods* I have officially passed the mark of watching enough Japanese shows to recognised any randoms actors in any random Japanese shows. Woohoo... a useless self-achievement. HAHAHA...

After the movie, we went a mini shopping spree to get all that we need. Last stop the Green Tea Ice-Cream place. LOLz. When I say 日本の日, I truly meant 日本の日。We left Gurney Plaza slurping delicious bitter-taste Green Tea Ice-Cream. Not exactly everyone's cup of tea.

And once again, when it comes to fooood. All I managed was the remains. >__<

We left the place with a remaining of RM10.00 in my wallet and RM1.00 in Yen's but boy was the afternoon a good one. =) *smiles*

On a side note...

Got an sms from Yen-san this morning that reads...

"I open my wallet, find no money;

And got all freaked out! What? Not my fault you went home with only RM1.00 left!! Then scolded myself for running into conclusions before seeing the whole picture. As the message continues...

"I open my wallet, I find no money;
I open my pocket, I find no coin;
I open my life, and I found you;
then I know how rich I am."

Aww...
Thank you. Now I know how rich I am too. Yes, approximately RM9.00 more than Yen-san.

Below is the actual chart that shows the various fare of a KLIA Transit ride. Answer question 1 and 2 accordingly:


Question 1:
Hanako-chan is going to KLIA to meet a friend. If she boards the train from Bandar Tasik Selatan, how much did she pay?


Okay. Got your answer?


Was it RM26.50?


Well, rest assured you would have passed any test paper in school. However, this is the real world we are talking about. Not school. If things are that simple we would have all stayed as kids and never grow up. Money my fellow friends are essential for all working adults.


Answer:
Hanako-chan paid RM11.50 to get to KLIA.


Solution:
Hanako boarded the train at Bandar Tasik Selatan, but only to Putrajaya/Cyberjaya for the price of RM5.30. She then exited and bought another ticket to Salak Tinggi which cost her RM3.00, waited for the next train, exited Salak Tinggi bought another ticket to KLIA which cost her RM3.20, went back in, waited all over again for the next train.

RM5.30 + RM3.00 + RM3.20 = RM11.50

Forget about the weird stares you'll get from the counter dude, watching you walk in and out. You my dear friends have save approximately RM15.00.



Question 2:
After a nice wonderful meet-up and a delicious dinner later, Hanako took the train home. How much did Hanako-chan spend that day on transportation?


Okay. I think this time you should probably get it right?


Answer:
RM38.00


Did you get it right this time?


Solution:
Now remember this is real life we're talking about here. I have even stated in the question that it's after dinner. Hanako-chan is a decent young lady who is as conscious of her safety as much as her money. Knowing that its late, going in and out as well as waiting for the next train one after another will take up the night, Hanako-chan took the direct train home from KLIA to Bandar Tasik Selatan which cost her RM26.50.

RM11.50 + RM26.50 = RM38.00

Now, my dear friends. I am not entirely sure if what we learnt in school actually applies in real life but Maths and logical thinking are ever the important to help you weigh not only money but the pros and cons of things.

Here's when you should start playing some sentimental music before continuing. *snickers*

Hiyashibeeps is in fact not Hiyashi's first bloggie. In fact, blogging for Hiyashi was not something that happened only 2 years ago. It started back in high school. *nods* Almost five years back. Back then blogging was only known within the online community. "Blogosphere" was non-existant, neither was blogspot a hype.

I got into it because of my online friends, because of SLAM DUNK by Inoue Takehiko. To think a basketball manga was what got me tech-savvy back then compared to others. LOL. It was called Vinice's Realm and believed it or not, it is still alive in the world wide web. Hmmm... more like in a coma instead since it's barely functioning. Not gonna share the url with you guys now. Hahaha... you can try google it but I've tried just to make sure you don't get it that easily. =P

Back to Hiyashibeeps shall we.

Within 2 years, Hiyashibeeps have gone through numerous make-overs. From the first blogspot template -> customised templates -> personal templates -> free templates by others -> back to this current blogspot template again

Simple, plan and a typical blogspot template. Ah... and also the very first post. It was raining ice back then, remember?

Black with a personal touch. This and the current clean-cut layout are my favourites among all others. The only set back for this layout was it went bonkers with firefox. My sucky html skills gave me the limited privileged of editing it according to what I see in I.E. only. And for a memorable post, I shall introduce you something you have always known but probably just don't realised... "All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten"



Hiyashi's Beeping Hub version 3.0
aka Gong Xi Fa Cai version.
Most make-overs happened this year. Mainly cause I never found one layout I like as much as version 2.0. This seasonal layout obviously last for less a month and therefore the highlight during this short period was when my favourite celebrity cook made my day.

Short, sweet and simply silly. It has to be this.

Hiyashi's Beeping Hub version 5.0
aka the emergency layout!
This probably lasted as long as Gong Xi Fa Cai's version. Version 4.0 went into E.R. when the hosted picture fell ill and showed a little plaster with a cross instead. It's a relief though when you have such nice post to brighten up simple website. ^_^

And that my dear friends are bits and pieces that made the Hiyashibeeps you see today. My little achievement in life that I can proudly share with others.
