Let's Play A Game!

It's the 'Name the Fruit' Game!

Fruit No. 1

.
.
.

Name this fruit.
.
.
.
Mango?
.
.
.
Or Papaya?

Answer:
A papaya that looks almost like a mango.
A papaya from papa's papa-ya tree!
And if you think that's amusing, wait till you see the rest.

Mini Fruits Galore!
Mini papaya that looks like a mango, next to a mini pomelo that is a tad too yellow
and two mini mangoes that instead don't quite look like mangoes. Just so you know,
mini pomelo hails from the pomelo tree in front of my house too.

Yup. Our mini garden bears mini fruits.

Oh oh! I just remember I had one more photo in my camera to share.

*goes off to hunt down the photo*

There you go!

Our Si Pendek Papaya tree. Hahaha. Super short but super fruitful.Contrary to the mango-looking papaya that was shown above, its many other siblings look and taste like any normal papaya. By the way, this photo was taken back in October last year. Si Pendek has turned into a fine teen-papaya now and is awaiting its second bloom.

Happy 29 February 2012!!

So dad might have attempted to pour some cold water over the day by making fun
on the fact that I'm working for free today but...

it's alright with me!

Because I have been hen-picked to be
Nando's Weekly Business Card Lucky Draw Winner!

Except I kinda dropped my card in the bowl many many many mooooons ago.

*sweats*

But who cares!

That just means it is meant to be!

29 February 2012 is an awesome day.
Can't wait for the next one to happen... umm... in four years. Dang!

To be Simple is Simple: The Results!

.
.
.

TADAA!!

*click on picture to enlarge ya!*

I admit the pictures are not in the sequence of how I wore them because I'm anal and I think this sequence looks the best when put up together. =P I also admit that I did not exactly wore the flowery dress for the weekend like I planned since... well, since I stayed home throughout the weekend. So there was no point to dress-up. But I did make the effort to put the dress on and take a picture. Hah! But yeah, this little mission thingy is doable after all. And I think I can safely declare that I made it through the week without looking all that unfortunate after all. :D

To be Simple is Simple

It all started one simple day when Yen-san came to me with a book and excitely whispered
"I have something to tell you." It was amusing to see someone being all excited yet trying hard to keep her volume down since we were at our workplace after all.

She handed me a book and said "You guess what I want us to do..." and ran off just like
that as she made her way to another department to pass some prints.

So I skimmed through the book and when she came back with her hopeful eyes
staring back at me, I replied "Umm... take photos?"

 It was a close answer.

Yen-san replied, "Well yeah... but there's more!"

She flipped to the chapter "To be simple is simple" and there it was a photo of six pieces of clothing displayed out for the world to see and under the photo reads
"six pieces of clothing for a month's worth of wearing... try it."

The author shared a simple yet provoking thought, "So what if we were not as fortunate enough to have a closet full of clothes in every colour? What if you are in a place with bare necessities and you are lucky even to have clothes over you?" Ever wonder these what if's?

Well...

"Obviously we can't go for a month's worth... but let's try for a week!"
exclaimed Yen-san.

So I guess the cause behind our little project is not as worldly and bold as the author himself but it's still going to be one heck of a memory to remember. How we fussed for an hour in picking the ultimate six pieces that's going to last us for seven days. How we are going to lose some good little brain cells thinking about the variations to these six pieces of clothing so as to not look like we are poor unfortunate souls in dire need of some donations. Indeed, it's going to be an interesting week ahead.

And so it begins.

Six pieces of clothing, seven days to live in them.

Here we go! :)

The one Video Contest that You and I have a Better Chance of Winning than Mr Spielberg himself

Remember how I won myself some (seven) session of Free Antioxidant Hot Bed Therapy at Ecoparadise (which I have yet to use *sigh*) by doing what I love… BLOG! Well, the kool people at Koolred are having a contest once again. Although this time it’s not one of my many fortes but it’s definitely something some of you guys love to do. I personally know a handful of people who seem to live, eat and sleep camera. *eyeing PSP-san and Mr IdunTalkMuch* Okay, okay, it’s not exactly photography but it’s one of the many functions in the camera anyway.

VIDEO SHOOTING!

It’s a natural thing that we do when we travel aside from taking thousands of photos. There are just some things that a still photo can never capture, like the smiles and waves from the locals or the silly shrieks of excitement whenever we land at a foreign place. Come to think of it, I have a bunch of those in my folders. Maybe I should dig them out and join the contest myself. Hmm…

After all, the prizes are FREE HOTEL STAYS!

It’s like you take one holiday to earn yourself another.
How awesome is that?

If you have yet to discover this little growing community, well, I say it's a pretty kool 'place' to 'hang out' since there's members from all over the world who share their travel experiences well, all over the world.

The Koolred Team is also sneaky enough to keep us members excited by having random big and small contests from time to time. I'm not crazy enough to join every single one of them but that doesn't mean I can't share it with those who I believe will be more interested than me. Hmm… however, all these “Come on, let’s join and win this contest” talk are making me have second thoughts on this matter. I might just join the contest myself. After all I do have my travel videos sitting readily in my folders. Tempting. Very tempting.

Not to mention, I've done the necessary competitor analysis too
and my favourite entry at the moment would have to be this.

I just think it has truly captured the essence of what this contest is about which is to share a video that will make a tourist want to visit that destination. Winning entries are based on two main criteria, one is creativity and the second one is how 'Kool' is the video. Basically there's a 'Kool' button that works very much like the Facebook 'Like' button and the more 'Kool' your video is the better your chance of winning.

Anyway, will I be one of the competitors to beat is besides the point. Check out the contest and prizes here (you gotta hurry though since the contest ends in about a week's time, 17 November 2011 to be exact) or even if you’re not into the contest, check out Koolred’s website. It's a travel website after all, so you can roll around in lots of pretty pictures from all over the world and read up on useful information that can help you plan for your next travel, wherever that may be. ;)

Boy Meets Girl (Penang Version) Part II

Who would have thought a silly sketch can turned into a 3-part comic?

Yup, there's even a part III to this.

*grins*

Who says the girl is always the damsel in distress?
Or that the guy is always the one doing the courting?

Oh no no no!
That is just too predictable and b-o-r-i-n-g.

So will Ah Girl get her guy in the end?
I guess you'll just have to wait and see!

Boy Meets Girl (Penang Version) Part I

You see here's the deal.

An Art Director draws.
She can draw and draw and draw cutesy little characters you adore.

A Copywriter writes.
She can write and write and write a story without a sight.

Put them two together and Waalah!
Umm... you finally get them right?

:P

Okay okay. No more rhymes.

But you get the idea. :)

Click to enlarge and I assure you there's a TBC to this. :)

Waydup y'all.

One of These Things is Not Like the Others...

*sings*

One of these things is not the same.

Can you tell which thing is not like the others?

Can you tell which thing is not the same?

*grins*

Threw them pillows aside to take off my bedsheet and saw this instead.

Mind you, that cutesy blue rabbit print pillow case is sort of like my "smelly" which I'm sure everyone has. Right? Right? Don't even try to deny it. It's not smelly in the sense of it being stinky, it's smelly in the sense of me hugging it to sleep every night and practically breathing off it. :P

Now what's the bolster for then?

*shrugs*

Its role is to lay at the side of the wall to prevent me from knocking myself 'blue-black' against the wall.

See! Every pillow and bolster has an important part to play.

*points to the standing red pillow*

That is what I lay my head on.

*points to big flat red pillow on top of the bolster*

And that is what my legs are laid on.

Yes. Yes. There's a pillow for my legs.

And that red piece of cloth right in front of the picture. Well that's my blanket. Oh and if you're wondering, the missing bedsheet from this picture, well, that's sort of maroon-pink-red too.

So yeah, blue cutesy is the bestest!

Girl, it’s Time to Man Up!

It’s going to rain. Sounds of thunder can be heard. It’s dark and cool. The perfect weather for an afternoon nap. And mind you, I don’t usually do afternoon naps. *stares at her bed* I want to snuggle in there so badly but I can’t. Not until I take a bath and wash my face since I just came back from my half-day 'temple excursion'. And I can’t take a bath. Not until I process the lunch I just ate. I know. I know. But that’s just how I roll. :P Girls are so weird sometimes most of the times. No wonder boys don’t understand us. Heck, I think we barely understand ourselves half of the time. LOL.

Seriously. I should just man up and go to bed.

No Wonder Lah!

I click 'Publish Post'. I check my post. Edit, edit and edit until that stupid line spacing is perfect or until I give up, whichever comes first. I give one final read to my post and then I realised... No matter what I cooked, be it Japanese, Italian, Chinese, English, American, they all end up on that same flowerly cina-pek plate.
So tak cocok lah.

No wonder lah, they call those chinaware.

A Bad Sign Turned Good

Woke up at 6.15am this morning feeling a little warm as the AC had auto shut-off at 5am. I usually sleep through the remaining hour and a half with whatever coolness left in the room. It was hot though this morning so I got up with my eyes closed and went to switch on the fan. Went back to bed for my precious 15 more minutes of sleep.

Sure enough the alarm went off at 6.30am.
Woke up and my first thought was
[Why am I still feeling that hot?]

The fan wasn't on! Second thought
[Wait! Did I not got up to switch the fan on?]

Hey at 6.30am in the morning, you gotta doubt yourself whether you actually dreamt the whole thing up. So I stood up and went back to the switch. Sure enough it was on!

WAIT! Third thought of the morning.
Gosh, too much going on in such an hour!
[WHAT?! No electricity!!!]

Yes that thought came with three exclaimation marks because that means bathing in the dark and OMG! Bathing with cold cold water! *shivers* So I groaned and crashed back onto the bed. Not the way to start a Monday, man! 6.35am and my alarm rang again. This time I lay awake on my bed, mourning over the bad start to the week. *sigh*

Fourth thought of the morning:
[THIS IS NOT A GOOD SIGN!]

A minute passed. My 6.40am deadline ticks.
And then the AC made a noise. The fan answers it.

O__O

Fifth thought:
[It's BACK!]

6.40am and the alarm goes off one last time. Finally I got up feeling all smugged.

The first thought of the week as I stepped out of my room?
[IT'S GONNA BE A GOOD WEEK AFTER ALL]

Hello Weekend!

Yes, I'm still sleeping when this post goes up. At least I hope it does. This is me, testing the concept of a scheduled post. Haven't tried it before. Well there's always a first for everything.

See you in another few hours!

I'm in the Zone Tonight

Just so we're clear. I'm not paranoid. I just have the song on repeat tonight. On the contrary, I'm in a happy mood which explained the out-of-the-blue blogging right now.

*******

Paranoid Android
by Radiohead

Please could you stop the noise, I'm trying to get some rest
From all the unborn chicken voices in my head
What's that...? (I may be paranoid, but not an android)
What's that...? (I may be paranoid, but not an android)

When I am king, you will be first against the wall
With your opinion which is of no consequence at all
What's that...? (I may be paranoid, but no android)
What's that...? (I may be paranoid, but no android)

Ambition makes you look pretty ugly
Kicking and squealing gucci little piggy
You don't remember
You don't remember
Why don't you remember my name?
Off with his head, manOff with his head, man
Why don't you remember my name?
I guess he does....

Rain down, rain down
Come on rain down on me
From a great height
From a great height... height...
Rain down, rain down
Come on rain down on me
From a great height
From a great height... height...
Rain down, rain down
Come on rain down on me

That's it, sir
You're leaving
The crackle of pigskin
The dust and the screaming
The yuppies networking
The panic, the vomit
The panic, the vomit
God loves his children, God loves his children, yeah!

*******

The lyrics are all weird. Hey don't look at me. Research on the internet says it's actually three songs/stories written into one but I wouldn't want to go into the details. I just want to hit the Replay button again and again. As much as a lyrical person I am, tonight it's just all about the music.

Yeah. Even the music video is weird. o_O

Banyak Ada Stail Loh!

Gaya betul A.D. ini. Cik Datang namanya.
Orangnya baik lagi mempersona.
Nak makan tak ada 'bip' takpa.
Kan 'kreatif' keistimewaannya.

Kata dia: "Pakai tisu ajelah."
Tak cantik tak mengapa.
Asalkan tak beritahu siapa-siapa.
Tapi maaf sangat, kena post kat blog pulak.

The Time of My Life

And I found it on the horizon.

*grins*

Oh shoot me for my lameness.
But come on, song about magic rainbow amuses me. And in case you have no idea what I'm talking about. Go Here!

Gosh I have lots of secret stash in my phone, waiting to be released. See the date! *points* That's like 2 weeks ago and there's more from where that came from.

Wait I bluetooth more to my comp.

This Was Friday!

Meet gang 'Empat Secawan'!

On the far left, meet 'Blue Tumbly'.
He's the man of the job when it comes to my daily water supply. A natural hardworker I must say, fills up to two to three times per day!

Now next, meet 'Snoopy Cuppy'.
This dude here works the morning shift. He's pretty efficient in his job. In fact I love him so much for what he brings to the table. *winks* The problem is he hangs around the entire day even after his shift has ended.

Alright. Next! 'Sweet Gasly'.
She pays a visit to the office once in a while with her 'oh-so-sweet' manner and pandai-pandai work her way into our hearts and our health. It's really a love-hate relationship when it comes to her.

Last but not least. 'Super Bottler'.
My hero. This guy might seemed all humble and dressed down but the truth is he's the Clark Kent of the bunch! When all else fails and 'Blue Tumbly' couldn't make his round to the water dispenser due to heavy workload and time constraint, it is thy 'Super Bottle' that steps out of the bag and onto the table as the last minute resource!

*******

Okay. I can't believe I just wrote four paragraphs of silliness about my water bottles. All I wanted to do at first was to publish a post called 'This Was Friday' and left a oneliner about my drinks lining up on my table as I worked my way through busy Friday.

I guess I kind of got carried away.

*shrugs*

U.F.O. Sighting!

At approximately 11.30am on 28 February 2010 at a traffic light along *bleep bleep* Road, I looked out and up from my car window and spotted an Unidentified Flying Object. No joke I tell you. It's definitely not a plane nor a heli, definitely not a jet, hot air balloon, blip, whatsoever. Tried to take a picture of it, which led to the spookiness of it not appearing in the photos I took. Yikes! Then again, I didn't have my camera with me and I had to make do with my camera phone which didn't allowed me to zoom. But still. It's not there! It's not there!

SPOOKY I TELL YA. SPOOKY!
