Slam Dunk 2012: A Birthday Special

It's definitely been awhile. So what am I up to? What's with the silent treatment? Nothing much actually except I bought myself some Photobooks. Again. And am busy at work. Again.

The funny thing is sometimes I get all worked up and motivated over the entire process. Picking photos, arranging them, putting words into them, etc. And then suddenly in the middle of it all, I just feel what a self-indulgence this is. I mean it's actually nothing more than syok sendiri. Yes, they're going to be awesome memory books and all, so what?

It's funny how you can get from one emotion to another so quick.

Like how this suppose-post about my birthday spontaneously ended up
being a post about my conflicting self. O_O

Alright. Back to the topic, shall we?

This year I decided to tune it up. Literally. Like let's just not eat to celebrate. Let's eat... and sing to celebrate! Oh dear, me singing? When Cik Datang found out about it she cynically asked if it rained. Cis! But yeah, it was different and because of that, we have a different set of photo memories to cherish this year.

But the best shot of the night has to be this!
Papa singing/trying to be Aerosmith.
Yup, my papa is awesome. *hearts*

Well, karaoke happened few days before my actual birthday
just so we can celebrate with little sis while she's home.
On the actual birthday itself, well, I have to go to work. Boo.

But I received this at work. Yay!
A gift from Cik Datang. Eco(nomical)-friendly wrapped in a printed recycled paper
with ribbon drawn on top. As expected from an Art Director.

Well, inside this gift bag was...

... a little bag!

And inside this little bag...

... was a big bag!

Talk about a bag of surprises. :)

As a "Ohayo-Arigatou-Hai" Japanese-influenced lady that I am
(though recently I've been splashed by the Korean wave)
my other fellow colleagues generously treated me out to...

Duh. A Japanese lunch.

Where strangely has *ahem* an interesting selection of magazines.

Anyhow, I enjoyed my big bowl of Muscle Noodle, I mean Mussel Ramen.

And managed to shoot a Samsung Galaxy S2 ad at the same time.

Group shot! Thank you guys!

As if muscle-filled lunch was not yummy enough...

...in came a precious box of sweeeeet memories!
A gift from dearest Cubbie who is one of the few who know about my longstanding love for Slam Dunk. She was worried that it was a bit old school but to me, that just show we go way back. (Though still not long enough if you ask me) Let's go for another 10, 20, 30 years and beyond, eh Cubbie? *hearts*

To end this special day with a special cake.
It's really special in that papa even made an effort to order it the day before. Haha. Sure it's no secret recipe but I am still very much touched by the effort especially since we usually buy a cake off the shelve every year. I told papa that I don't need an expensive dinner treat or anything but just a good cake. I love cakes! Like LOVE. And this Blueberry Cake (though very unexpected in choice... haha) was very very deliciousssss! Thank you papa, and mummy, too of course. Which reminds me, where's my sister in all these? Cis cis!

My nine precious cupcakes was kept in the fridge until the weekend when I finally had the time to give them the attention they deserve. Took a good amount of photos of each of them to store in my great memory bank. :)

And for that, here's the last shot for this year's oh-my-gawd-i'm-getting-older occasion.

Happy Birthday to me!

[InstaMyLife] Through the Eyes of Instagram (Part I)

That's the thing about having a smartphone with you. It's easier to capture the moment and record it down. So easy that you sometimes wonder why do you even need to blog about it after that? But even though I don't blog religiously, I know that this blog remains the one constant that I can count on even after all the many technology fads that may come and go.

I admit, I love my Instagram. A lot.

But even more, I love the moments I took with it.
Enough to take the trouble to have them here as well.

Like the very first shot I took with my brand new phone.

Stuck Again?!?

Here's a new introduction to Hiyashibeeps...

*drumrolls*
.
.
.

The Blog that's Stuck in Time.

Honestly, I thought I'll end up skipping the entire month of May but fret not!
I am here to save myself and my dear blog.

Now to catch up with life. Let's see.

Office Moving Day happened.

And yes, I blogged about packing, I blogged about more packing and then stop! Hahaha. So what happened? We moved and OMG! has been working in the new office for... more than a month now?! Wow! We just passed our one month anniversary on Wednesday.

So how does the new office freaking looking like anyway?

Sadly, I don't have the interest to do a lengthy post on that now that the excitement has died down but here's a little peek. I'm not that heartless to leave people hanging just like that.

Yeah right.

Behold! This is the view from my 'window'.

Why yes, I see a bushy little hill across me every day. Well at least for most of the time, whenever the little hill is sitting tall enough or is not away to somewhere else. Ironically since little bushy hill might not always be there. Mr IdunTalkMuch dengan senyap-senyapnya offered another view of nature for all to share.

A little ball of green that calls itself 'Marimo'.
Apparently, it actually grows which in my opinion is just a tad freaky.
God knows what it's up to at night while we are away. *shivers*

Well, that's about it for the new office. As for the L.E.P.A.K series, I have a feeling I'm in denial that the series is coming to an end and am delaying my posting on purpose. At least that's what I suspect. I also have a feeling that the next time I will be seeing you here is in June. Hahaha.

Then again, I'm 'full' of surprises. =P

WE ARE MOVING YO!

We're just one day away from MOVING DAY!

Unlike last week, we're no longer sitting in a store room.
Today it seems we're sitting among 'well' labelled boxes. Yes! Studio is now known as Area No.5. Now Mr IdunTalkMuch may not necessarily express himself with words a lot but he's sporting enough to participate in his own 'expressive' way.

This goes out to Tinki who personally requested to keep her updated on the progress.
While others are moving, she looks like she's migrating. o.O;;

And this goes out to Ms 'Loon' June who left her 'crap' behind
while she enjoy-enjoy in Australia.

Here's another box of Mr Skimmer Dude's shit (his own words)
He's delusional enough to think anyone would ever want to steal it.

Introducing Ms Beauty.
(It's not about vanity, she's just a very very crazy Beast fan. FYI, Beast is a korean
idol group and their fans are vain enough to call themselves Beauty. =P)

The peeps at Area 1 posing one for the camera.

Look at what was found. Little Tinki! *snickers*

A proud mama!

And finally we arrived at Area No.6.

Here's Ms Bee posing for the camera.
I can just hear Mr Skimmer Dude complaining, "Why girls ask to pose for the camera
only will automatically do the VVVVVV sign?!" Hahaha.

And we're back at Area No.5. There you have it, 5 Sekawan Minus 1
Ironically, the missing one's paper was stuck in a different direction from the rest. Hehehe.

Here's one more with me wanting to be in the picture yet
not waiting to be in the picture. Women. Fickle minded creatures we are.

 Alright. That's about it.

Bye yo!

Go, Going, GONE!

Remember Lights, Camera, Reflector from last week?

Take a look at the background and everything around Mr IdunTalkMuch
and PSP-san. Noticed how fun-filled the entire place is with Astro Boy standing tall against
a whole bunch of other 'ornaments'? Or what I call 'ting-ting-tang-tang'.

Noticed how we build paper forts around us?

Well, they're all gone now. :(

All that's left is a cup of teh-ping on the shelf and
a packet of Tinki's only edible food from her desk.

This was last Tuesday before we went off on our one-day public holiday
in conjunction with our Agong's installation which also happened to be the day
the tremors of the earthquake in Acheh was felt in Penang.

Empty magnet board with no 'ting-ting-tang-tang' whatsoever.

A tad sad looking don't you think?
So cold, without any personal warmth.

Well, if you think that's sad...

We came back on Thursday to THIS.

SPOT THE DIFFERENCE YO!

It's Gone!

Our hanging cabinets are gone!

Too bad we only remembered to take some photos after we cleaned up and settled down in our now very empty looking studio. When we came in the morning, our room looked... well, like it was indeed struck by an earthquake. o.O;; Drawers on the floor. Boxes tucked under the tables. With dust, dust and more dust everywhere!

With boxes stacked up in a corner behind us (you can't see them in this picture)
and lines of leftover dried glue sticking on the walls, we pretty much look like
we're working inside a storeroom at the moment.

:(

BUT!

The good news is that it's only for a week!

Because all this little 'sacrifice' is for our new office.

Yup. Next time, you'll be seeing a not-very-different (because let's face it,
we're pretty much moving ourselves from here to there, so you'll be seeing the same stuff in a different manner only. hehe.) office backdrop for any future work-related posts.

 In other words,
WE ARE MOVING!
