A Pen for A Pan

Change of weapon!
Hiyashi holds a pan just as well as she holds a pen.
But Hiyashi is not a Japanese Chef. As bizarre as it sounds, Hiyashi don't even know how to make sushi.
Hiyashi cooks only spaghetti, pasta, Italiano!

Yup. It's boiling! The Farfalle is boiling!
Anyway I *refering myself as Hiyashi got a little weird at this point* So anyway, I got kinda busy after that and the few photo attempts I've made while cooking turned out blur. -.-;;

Therefore, let's just proceed with the results shall we?

How can Italian food go without a bowl of clam chowder soup and of course a glass of red wine. *slurps*

Up close.
Should have cut more mushrooms yesterday night. That's right, preparation started a night before. Hahaha... all because I refuse to wake up early on a Sunday morning.

Ohohoho... and when I cook, I give you variety.

TA-DAA!

My dad called this green thick keoy teow. *swts* Bought this out of curiousity and for it's green spinachy look but personally I'll say I prefer to go with good old spaghetti. Just like how I prefer good old Original Recipe over Hot and Spicy when it comes to KFC.

Hmm.. while I'm at it. *waves flag* Support Original! And that goes for more than CDs okay?

The close-up for this is not so appetising huh? Forgot to add smelly cheesy powder earlier. Haha..

And when all things come to an end, it only makes sense to end it good, right?

YUMMY! Strawberry dessert.

I am not really a strawberry fan but it won't be italiano to have buah jambu as dessert eh. ^^;;

Ah it's now 5.30pm and I'm still full of myself! Muahahaha...

When it comes to job...

I have a friend working in Singapore and if I'm not mistaken, I heard it's her third job. Not sure if it's true but I'm glad she finally found the right one. =)

I have a friend working in Singapore and he complains about the competitiveness, his incompetency and how the job is slowly eating him inside out, making him loose the confidence he had carried throughout university life. I felt the change in him and it was not a good change but as far as I know... he's still there. *swt*

I have a friend who finally decided to take that leap of faith and went down Singapore last week to try to get herself a job, a good job, the dream job. =)

But that's enough of Singapore.

I have a friend who finally call it quits last week after officially working for one year. Moved back to her hometown and now helps out in her family's business.

I have a friend who almost got herself a court case over contract issues regarding her job. Not too sure about the details but am just glad it's all fine now.

I have a friend who when first started working asked me this question, "how long do you plan to stay in the first company before moving to the next?". It has always been her intention to seek greener grass in Singapore. *urgh.. -.-;; what's with Singapore!" Ironically, after 7 months, she decided to give her fullest to her current job and now after settling down, the thought of venturing to our neighbouring country actually scares her a little.

I have a friend who works in a bank. I make fun of him by calling him a "loan shark" becomes its his job to get people to pay their debts to the bank. He's been depressed for awhile and sms me that he is thinking of resigning. What's his plan I asked. "Maybe I'll go back into animation." =)

I have a friend who currently stays at home, indulging in her own creation and passion. Better still, she's doing it with a grant in hand as well. Good for her! However, she shocked me a few days ago by being so sensible. "I think I rather save the money, buy myself a car and get myself a stable job."

Who else is there?

Oh ya and then there's me!

It's officially one year for me. Call me simple, call me easily content but don't call me not determined. I might not have any complains but it was a big bold move for me to go this path I now journey. To have a job offer waiting upon graduation yet I seek for something many would have thought was out of my league. I didn't exactly graduated with it as my forte. It was more of a passion. But that's the wonders of learning right? It's not fixed with a paper. And who would have thought... My first interview. My first job. And if you still insist on my feelings after a year of work? Hey it's a job with the usual ups and downs. Now tell me which job doesn't and I'll tell you... umm.... just how naive you are.

Hah... so says a more matured Hiyashi.

Mr Cool what are you doing in my dream?

*sings* I had a dream...

Okay that was a little lame.
But I did!
I dreamt I went to Japan!
With Cubbie!
*Okay, got to stop ! at everything.*

Anyway, to be exact there were me, Cubbie and 4 others I can't identify. Simply because the other 4 are always a few feet away from us. Both of us are like the leader of the group. ^^;;

So we finally arrived in Japan and as we land I panicked. Why? Because I realised we did not have any proper documentations with us. We were in the immigration office and the officer there was questioning us. -___-;; Maa... we're not illegal immigrants. We're not that stupid to be that obvious right?

And at one point it got weird that the officer will actually believe we're not here to work illegally if I can produce some KAT-TUN concert tickets to prove I'm there for leisure purposes. *swts* And a girl sitting on the waiting bench said it is impossible to get tickets anymore cause they're definitely sold out. What the??? *blinks*

Well, you can't really suspect such innocent group of young ladies right? Hahaha.. the officer was soooo kind. He actually let us call back home to have someone mail the documents over to proof our innocence. And guess who I called!!!

Mr Cool!

Mr Cool from my office. What are you doing in my dream? I guess you can always rely on Mr Cool to mail the right things over. And alas he did! He mailed them over. I have no idea what courier service they use in dream but boy are they fast! It arrived almost immediately.

I don't really know what happened after that for I have to wake up to go to work by then but one thing's for sure, I'm in Japan legally!

So this post is dedicated to Mr Cool.
Thank you for saving me in Japan.

Now let's see if I can continue my dream tonight. *looks forward to an enjoyable trip* teehehe...

Short and sweet.
With a nice cup of hot tea beside.
The smell. Ah... warm and fuzzy.

Life's a gamble...

... so I guess the same rules apply.

"You got to
know when to hold 'em,
know when to fold 'em,
know when to walk away
and know when to run.

You never count your money
when you're sitting at the table.
There'll be time enough for counting
when the dealing's done."

-Quoted from Kenny Roger's The Gambler song-
